whilst I'm hyperfixating on dolls, thinking about protective childhood best friend Gazđđ
His feelings had started off strictly platonic, protective over the quiet girl next door, who barely spoke up in class, and was generally an outcast due to her being perceived as 'weird' for enjoying picking flowers as to playing sports, and trawling antique shops instead of partying.
As you'd grown up alongside each other, that sentiment had only strengthened. He still so vividly remembers the day he came home to you sat on his porch step, a broken doll, a Blythe that you'd spent hours customising with such love, broken to bits. He'd obviously done the rational thing - spent weeks working in his dad's garage to fix her up, getting his mum to help him sew her teeny tiny dress back up, even asking around the pharmacy for if they sold 'those stick on eyelashes', to the amusement of most of the Boots staff.
To this day, he credits your prompting, and his mums patience for his emergency suturing skills. And Blythe, of course.
He's since made a habit of contributing to your collection, somehow acquiring originals from the seventies still in their boxes, or buying customs that you're sure sell for copious amounts of money. He wasn't there to protect you and your precious doll once, so he'll be sure to make up for it every day since. There's no weirdness about it either. To him, it's cute.
However, when you'd started dating...
Of course, he still had no problem with the collection of little you's on various shelves throughout the house. Save for the bedroom Blythe, lingering on the dresser like some freaky, big headed little guardian angel, who he's convinced is sending him bad juju every time he tries to get nasty with you. Her creator. Mary Shelley type shit.
It becomes second nature for him to turn her around as soon as the two of you go stumbling into the bedroom.
And he begs you to put her in the closet when you go to sleep.
Turns out your SAS boyfriend who's been supporting your collection for years is fucking scared of dolls.

What he thinks vs what she knows (Drabble)

Word count: 2k-ish
Warnings: self image, insecurities, internalize racism, self esteem issues, sappy lovers, teenagers being teenagers
(A/N: Had this saved up in my drafts, figured I post it since Iâm still editing and getting ready for more Chispo and bruja content. Yâall are surviving a drought so I figured youâd like to get scraps đ you can see this as chipso y bruja canon? Uncanny? Maybe another au who knows? đ€ I know Iâm literally the author of this fanfic Anyways Thinking abt making a tag list for when I post so lemme know if you want to be tagged. Til the come get ya scraps! This one an agnsty one)
-
Leo thinks heâs ugly.
He thinks it has to do with his frame. Itâs too scrawny and weak. Not enough muscle, like the rest of his siblings who buff up endlessly. Or the Ares kids who have chiseled abs. He doesnât even have the height to gain such strength. Or the right body fat percentage.
Maybe heâs ugly because he doesnât have wavy hair like a Greek should. He has tight curls that seem to go everywhere, never in one place. Messy and kinky in all directions. No one ever seems to notice when itâs comb and neat.Â
His skin can be the reason why heâs ugly. Itâs not perfectly pure white. And itâs not just the right olive tan. Heâs dark that awful awful colorâ Moreno feo! His aunt would hiss at him. As if she wasnât the same color.Â
Or could it be his scars? Theyâre littered onto his body jagged and spread over his arms and hands. Not to mention the disfigured tissue from the left of his face and downwards, all red-brown burns spread over him.
If none of those things prove that heâs ugly, then maybe his face will.Â
He doesnât have a strong chiseled jaw, even after puberty, itâs still soft with some baby fat. Except for his way too pointed chin. The smile he paints on, definitely crooked and awkward; not perfectly straight shining white teeth.
Lips are usually chapped, because he kind of sucks at self-care. Proof by all his acne scars over his cheeks. Besides his weird moles. And who can forget the weak peach fuzz placed on his upper lip. Upwards his small, wide, and awkwardly squished nose.
Above that is not sky blue or green or any other unique colorâ but his dirt-ugly brown eyes, baggy from his lack of sleep some days, and way too thick eyebrows.Â
The worst part of it all, is his pointy ears. They stuck out enough to notice. The first thing people would see. They were stupidly pointy. And ultimately what Leo was most known for:
Fuckin hobbitÂ
ElfÂ
Troll
Imp
Mexican Spock he didnât even like Star-trek!
The list just goes on.Â
All these things make Leo thinks heâs ugly. Bullies and ex-infatuations have been sure to let him know it.Â
So to himself â Leoâs ugly.
â
Breisa loves Leo. She loves how he makes her feel. And how he cares. Or how he shows his love. She loves the warmth he brings. The dizziness she feels when sheâs with him. He never fails to make laugh. Or her feel any less important, more than just his girlfriend. His compliment. Not his missing piece.
But one thing that irks her, is how he canât see himself in the same light as she sees him. He doesnât love himself the way he loves her. It hurts to see that.Â
Breisa wanted him to be able to have the self confidence in himself. Heâs so smart, sweet, funny, strong, handsome, and caring but in his charming way. Despite how awkward or weird he could be which she had to admit was also cute he was charming in his own little way.
 Hopefully her plan was the best way to show him.Â
_
âCome on!â Breisa smiles and dragged Leo from behind, âYa llegamos!â
âAlright alrightâstump!â Leo tripped and face planted into the dirt. âOw.â His voice went small.
âOh my bad.â She winced, helping him up. Dusting off his clothes from the dirt. âDidnât mean to get so excited.â
He spit grass out his mouth, âNo worries, cariño.â
 He wipes off the dirt with a bandanna from his back pocket.Â
âItâs not like that I can get any less dirt-uglyâ Leo laughed.
Breisa frowned at that. âLet's just keep going.âÂ
Then she pushed through an overgrown bush, leaving him confused.Â
âShe always laughs at my jokesâŠâ Leo thought to himself; anxiously fiddling with his silver ring he made out of metal scraps and pennant washers.Â
âLeo, apurate!â Breisa called.Â
He shaked his head and breathed in, âWorryinâ, over nothing. No seas pendejo.â
Trudging forward he pushes through the leaves, trying not to get smacked by branches and vines.Â
As he stumbled outâ almost face plant again when Breisa caught his arm.Â
âCareful.â She smiled down at him.Â
âYa sabe.â Leo rolled his eyes playfully. âWhy are we here?â
All she does is point with her lipsâ forwards.Â
As Leo glanced over, his eyes caught where the rocks met a grassy field. Overlooking the underside of a hill.
A fuzzy rose-patterned blanket laid out, a picnic basket holding it in place. Next to the basket was a sketchbook, pencils, and a little radio. And the view of Camp-Half-blood spread out below them. From the Strawberry fields to lava rock climbing wall.
âWoah.â He breathed. âDid youâ?â
âYup.â Breisa grinned.Â
âPicnic dateâ?âÂ
âUh-huh.â She answered.Â
âFor meâ?â
âYes.â Breisa huffed jokingly. âSiĂ©ntate, lindo. No te preocupes por nada.â She plopped down and patted the spot next to her.Â
âBossy.â Leo sticks his tongue but laid back into the blanket.Â
She mimicked his face. âWhatever. Since Iâm so bossy, I guess all these tortas and Capri-suns should be for myself.â
He popped an eye open. âTortas with ham, chips, and cheddar cheese? Topped off with tapatĂo?â
âMy speciality.â She started digging from the picnic basket. âBut guess you donât want some. Cause Iâm so bossy.â
âEspĂ©rate.â He sat up, âSĂłlo porque eres asĂâ I donât have to die of hunger.â
âNah, pero soy mandona.â She munched on the sandwich.Â
âHey!â Leo jumped.âI want some!â
âNo way!â Breisa pushed his face away. âI donât want to annoy you. Iâm mean and bossy so my food must be bad.â
âAwe come on, it's still editable!â He laughed.Â
âNow you really ainât getting nothing!âÂ
â
Leo sighed satisfied, laying back on the blanket.
âGuess my food was editable?â Breisa raised an eyebrow.Â
âIt was alright, I guess.â He shrugged.Â
Breisa shook her head with disbelief. âTell that to the four tortas, bowl of fresas, and endless capri-suns.â
âNo te oyes. Sugar crash. So sleepy.â Leo closed his eyes.Â
Breisa rolled her eyes. Flicked his forehead. Then pulled her sketchbook onto her lap. Without even thinking she began to sketch a picture of him.Â
Pages and pages of Leo began to fill her sketchbook, itâs become a habit of her to have at least one drawing of him in each. Always having three hearts or a little flame next to each sketch.Â
Before, she would have never admitted having these drawings of him. Only because it would inflate his gaintanic ego. Leo being Leo, he would have something annoying to say.
Now even she knows that it was his way of sayingâ âI like you a lot. I just say stupid stuff because itâs easier to get your attention.â
 It doesnât make him less annoying, even as her significant other.
âWhat are you drawing?â Leo suddenly appeared beside her.
After her surprise wore down. She traced her pencil idly and muttered, âYou.â
Leo stared at her for a good long minute before bursting into laughter.Â
âWhy are you laughinâ?â She flushed, feeling a little embarrassed.Â
He calmed down and smiled. âItâs nothingâ just..â He snorted again, looking at himself, âWhy do I look like that?âÂ
âLike what?â Breisa asked.
âLike all majestic and shit.â He waved his hands. âI ainât that good looking. Or you know a profound art subject.â Leo rubbed his neck awkwardly with half of a smile on his face. âIâm just me, heh you know?â
Breisa put her sketchbook down, inhaled deeply, and faced him. âEres tan pendejo.â
âSay what now?â He raised an eyebrow.Â
âYou. Are. Stupid.â She said slowly. âYou arenât just whatever Leo. I draw how I see it. Youâre cute, handsome, and freakin pretty. Thatâs why youâre my favorite muse.âÂ
Leoâs face burnedâŠAnd so did his hair.Â
Breisa reached up, pinched a curl between her fingers. It fsss as the flame went out.Â
Leo cleared his throat, and swatted at the rest of his hair. âNo way Iâm that good looking. Iâm sure there are other better people to be your muse. You must be blinded by love.âÂ
âIâm not blinded by nothinâ.â Breisa fussed. âYou just canât and refuse to see what I see.â
He looked at her like she was crazy. âSee what? Fuck up half-melted ugly troll goblin thingâwho shares no light to a girl like you?!â
She grabbed the sides of his face and made contact with his coffee brown eyes. Gods she melted when the sun made them glow. He automatically shut up any protest he had.Â
Breisa brushed her thumb over his jaw, right at the scar.âI see a scrawny mofo with big beautiful brown eyes. A sideways smile that makes my heart flip. All wrapped up in that pretty face of his. Soft curls I can play with all day. Cute ears that get all red when I compliment him.
Hard working hands, that I can trace very dent and curve with my fingers. Strong arms that hold me in warm embrace. Just the right height so I donât have to snap my neck up to look at.
Goofball possible mad scientistâŠbut somehow suave n romantic. That knows everything about me, cares for me, and loves me.Â
And even though he thinks heâs the scum of the earth. A monster burned with his scars in and out. Or is undeserving of love because of some bullshit and stupid unworthy people from the past. Theyâre wrong. Cause to me, querido, you are the best person to ever walk into my life. And melt my heart.âÂ
Then Breisa planted her lips on him with tenderness, her hand on his chest, and moving another hand from his jaw to his curls.
Leo squeaked and brain short-circuited. Half of it was racing with thoughts while the other half went numb. âDo something idiot!â His brain finally scolded. Arms wrapped around her waist and he sighed against her lips.
When she pulled away, his lips still tingled pleasantly. Just like every other kiss they shared.
Then she looked at him with so much love and admiration. He nearly cried.Â
But he shook himself out of love-sickness and gave her a deadpan look.Â
âOk, you really gotta stop kissing me without warning.â Leo huffed, swatting his hair which was probably on fire. Again.
Breisa snickered at him.Â
âEn serio.â He empathized half-heartedly. âYou realize how many times Iâve almost passed out? Or bursted into flames? I couldâve started a Forest fire.â
âEh,â She shrugged, "It's worth it to see you get all flustered.â Then she squished his face, while cupping his jaw again. âI love this face. ÂĄQuĂ© lindo! ÂĄQuĂ© guapo! ÂĄTe adoro! ÂĄTe quiero, mi amorcito! Such a pretty boy, Mwah!â
She kissed all over his face dramatically. Extra affectionate on his scars.Â
âStop.â Leo rolled his eyes. Yet, his big dumb grin that showed off his cute gap gave him away.Â
âNah.â Breisa smiled just as stupid, âI am not done admiring. And Iâm not done with my sketch.âÂ
âHmn. Guess I gotta keep being your muse.â Leo hummed leaning onto her palm. Â
âGuess you do.â She pecked him on the lips. âIâm going to make sure I get all of your beauty.â
âYou know my face better than me.â Leo agreed and kissed her againâŠand againâŠand again.
â
After that he walked back to his cabin holding Breisa by the hand. Lipstick marks all over his face and the folded sketch in his pocket. Thinking maybe he wasnât so ugly.

Withering Petal (Armando x OC) Bad Boys Chapter 8

â ïžTrigger Warning â ïž
This chapter does contain mentions of violence and strong language as well as horrendous crimes. Please heed if youâre sensitive to mentions of those.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter 8Â
The next few days fly by like a breeze, nothing exciting happening. Amoraâs been working on another big art project for a different client, so sheâs been keeping to her office, and Armando has been basically living in her home gym.Â
Every time she goes to see what the fugitive is up to, she finds him in there working away. Sometimes she goes sneaking peeks whenever heâs shirtless or making rather loud grunts, thinking she was being sneaky, but unbeknownst to her, he sees her every time.Â
The week flew into the next, and Amora was in the room with Armando checking over his wounds.Â
ââYouâre healing pretty well, which is great to see they were looking real nasty when you first came,â she inspected his shoulder, moving over to his side before backing up to change out the bandages.Â
He hummed in response, comfortable in the silence they usually have while being in each other's presence. He fixed his position as she started putting on the bandages, scanning over her. He noticed she changed her nails to a light pink with clear textured designs, her toes matching the color.Â
âHow cuteâ he thought; he always found it so cute how she kept up with herself. It reminded him of his mother; she never liked going anywhere underdressed; she even found it disrespectful when women would come near her not dressed well.
He closed his eyes, feeling an ache from the thought of his mother. It made him want to run away. Even with everything she's done, he missed her. She was the only physical parental figure he had growing up, and even then, he barely got to see her. Another ache hit him, and he looked for a way to avoid the uprooting emotions.Â
âWhy is Victor looking for you? You mentioned it a couple times but never explained it.â came the question. Itâs been bothering him for a while, but he never spoke on it, and it helped take the spotlight of his memories stabbing at him.
Amora's hands stilled on the second wound she was working on and she let out a sigh. Finishing what she was doing, she sat next to him. Looking at him with sad eyes, part of him felt bad for brining that look to her face, but he knew he wanted answers.Â
âAfter my parents' murder, he took me with his cartel. "He-heâ she stuttered, taking a few shaky breaths before continuing.Â
âI was under his control for 12 years before escaping 4 years ago.â
âmierdaâÂ
âYeah, tough, right?â she breathed out in an empty chuckle.Â
âObviously people know that heâs a drug lord and was a mercenary, but most people donât know that he was also involved in human trafficking.âÂ
This really caught Armandoâs attention, his eyes enraged at the assumptions going through his head.
âAre you saying that you wereâŠ.?â he trailed off, not really wanting to say the words. He may have killed people and dealt drugs, but he never put women in harm's way. In fact, in the Aretas Cartel, all the men respected the women highly, especially when Isabel Aretas was the leader; they had no choice, and if they thought differently... well, his mother would show them why they called her âLa Bruja.â
Amora shook her head quickly
âSo... he did it differently. Victor Ortiz is a very possessive man; he would make deals with these men and would trade the women, but before the other party could get too far, he would have them killed and bring the girls back. He always made it seem like it wasnât from his group so that he could keep getting deals.âÂ
She took a deep breath in, glancing at Armando, seeing him fully locked in. She breathed out, feeling her hands begin to shake, clasping them tighter. Seeing her shake, Armando reached out, covering her hands with his.
""Listen, if you donât want to continue, you donât have o." She shook her head in reassurance.Â
âThank you, Iâm okay; itâs justâI'm okay. Uhm, so, for me, I was favored by Victor ever since I was little. Iâm not too sure why, but wherever he went, he made sure I was there by his side. He traded me a few times but mainly only did them as punishment; he would do it with the vilest men. Thankfully, before they could really touch me and do horrendous things, he would ââSave me,â she scoffed at the thought.
âI wonât lie, I had it better than most women there. I tried to use my advantage by helping women escape, but often we were caught, and he would either trade them or kill the women in front of me. Sometimes he would." Her voice hitched, taking a higher pitch, trying to get the words out but was choking up.Â
âS-sometimes he would--I'm sorry.âÂ
âNo, its okay." She felt Armandoâs hands caressing her, trying to bring comfort, but she knew she didnât deserve it, not from all the horrendous things she did.Â
Taking a deep breath, she rushed the words out.
âSometimes he would even force me to pull the trigger or choose who would die,â
she choked out, her eyes turning red from the tears streaming out of her eyes, remembering times when victors' hands were gripping hers painfully around the gun, her trying to struggle out of his grip aiming at different women, some she got close to, but it was futile.
âEventually I gave up on trying to help, and I only focused on myself. I tried three times, and after the fourth time, I finally escaped and found myself in Miami City. Sometimes I felt like he allowed me to escape; it felt almost easy, and I was right.â
She softly pulled her hands away from Armando, wiping the tears away from her face.
âAfter being away from him for a year, I tried to live a normal life; I felt it was long enough, and I was finally free. I met this guy, and he was so sweet, seeming so protective and genuine. We dated for about a year and a half, but it turns out he was working with Victor. He promised him two million in return for me,â she spitted out, feeling herself become angry over the hurt and betrayal on the day she found out.Â
~~~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~
Amora came bouncing in the apartment with a happy smile on her face after coming back from a self-care day of getting a message, her hair and nails done. She couldn't wait to show Jay her new hairstyle. She decided for the first time to get knotless braids in a honey blonde color.Â
âBaaaaaaabe, Iâm hoooome." She called out, putting her purse on the couch, taking off her sandals, and walking through the apartment going to the bedroom.Â
She found the man she was looking for, lying on the bed in nothing but black basketball shorts, her eyes scanning over his tall, dark brown body, and up to his face, his sharp jaw clenched shut, one hand twisting his curls and the other holding up his phone, texting, looking too serious.Â
She got an idea in her mind and quickly jumped on the bed, crawling over his legs, straggling him, and snatched his phone, putting it up above his head, giving a teasing smile.Â
âNotice anythiâ.â
A yelp ripped from her throat at being pushed roughly off his lap and onto the floor, immediately snatching the phone back out of her hand.
âWhat the fuck you think you doing, Amora?â she cowered into the floor out of shock and fear at his outburst. She tried to play it off by laughing even though she was petrified by that reaction. He's never had a reaction like that with her, ever.
"Geez, what got you so serious? I was only trying to show you my hair,â she told him, getting off of the floor and going to the far opposite edge of the bed, trying to create as much distance from the raging man as possible.Â
She watched him tower over her, glaring with seething black eyes, his pierced nose gleaming from his flaring nostrils. She felt as if she was in a ring with a raging bull charging right at her wanting blood.Â
âDon't do that shit again,â he threatened harshly before storming out of the room, slamming the door. She flinched at the sound and blinked at the door, eyes wide, breathing quickly, trying to hold back the tears pricking at her eyes.Â
Her breathing got quicker and choppier as she started hyperventilating at that familiar, dreadful feeling from when she was trapped. She stayed at the same spot, not following him, afraid of what might happen if she did.Â
A couple of days past, Amora kept her distance from him, thinking he was going to apologize for his behavior, but he never did.
Eventually she rolled it off, thinking maybe he was just having a really bad day and she made it worse; âit was childish of meâ, she thought, and decided to apologize to him for her actions, thinking it was going to get better.Â
Except it didn't; in the blink of an eye, he changed. He was getting ruder, to her being more evasive. Yelling and cussing at her, sometimes she thought he was even going to hit her.
âMaybe he found someone else,â she thought, and the thought of that crushed her. âDid I do something wrong? How could I fix it?â Some of the thoughts were going through her, but she continued on pretending she wasnât going in pain.Â
It wasnât until one night that he fell asleep while they were watching a movie that she got a chance to see what was going on.Â
He left his phone unlocked.Â
Looking quickly at the phone and back to Jay, she whispered his name, seeing if he would wake up.Â
âJay, hey Jay." She even poked him, but he didnât stir. So, she lightly reached out, picking up his phone, trying to be as still as possible, and when it reached her, she looked at him and saw he was still sleeping.Â
She gave a sigh of relief and went to open up his messages, feeling that relief being ripped and replaced with a fear so tight it was like time froze.Â
Victor Ortiz
Her shaking thumb hovered over the name before tapping on it to show the recent messages.Â
Sunday around 8 p.m., you'll have herâJay.Â
Will you have my money? - JayÂ
Are you questioning me? - Victor
No sir- Jay
Everything felt slow, her vision going blurry. She was going to throw up. She dropped the phone and ran to the bathroom, throwing up everything she ate that day. After a last hurl, she slid back on the wall, shaking. Everything felt cold but hot. Feeling pain in her throat, making it harder for her to breathe, she ended up lying on the floor, curling into a fetal position, when her breath finally rushed out of her, but streams of tears took its place.Â
She sat there for maybe 4 hours before getting up, legs shaking but a determined look on her face with a plan of getting out before she came face with that devil.Â
Â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Flash back end~~~~~~~~~
Coming back out of her memories, Amora felt herself start to shatter, one crack at a time, until it all came bursting out like a dam.
She felt herself getting picked up and freaked out.
âItâs okay, Amor. I got you. Iâm not going to do anything.â
When Armando's warm voice was brushing over her ear, she felt herself get placed in a warm lap, feeling strong arms wrap around her, his head nuzzling in the crook of her neck.Â
She allowed herself to remain still in comfort, unsure of what to do, but the more he rubbed her back, the more she relaxed, letting her head fall onto his shoulder. Squeezing her eyes shut and practically slapping the tears off her face, she sucked her teeth, wanting to control herself so that she could finish her story. For the first time she could freely speak on it to someone.Â
âI was so dumb and naive, I ignored every single sign there was, thinking the best of him in hopes of living that fairytale life... but I should've known better. That doesn't happen for someone like me,â she whispered out, hardly hearing her own voice zoning out again until she felt Armando's head shake bringing her back.
"Uhm, so that night I set up a plan and I drugged his drink.â Feeling Armando look at her in surprise, she quickly brought up her hands, shaking them, denying any accusations he could've been thinking.
âI only drugged it enough for him to fall into a deep sleep; I didn't kill him or anything!âÂ
âMaybe you should've." He couldn't help quip, wiping away some of the tears falling down her round cheeks, and went back to rubbing her back.
A quick giggle slipped out of her lips at that and she whispered a quick thank you for his attempt at lightening the mood before continuing.
âI didnât know where to go, so I just drove as far as I could. I found this abandoned house and found out who owned it, asking them if it was for sale. It was an old couple, and they just gave it to me. I took that as a good sign and blessing and immediately started to try to make money to make it livable, and this is living where I've been living for the past three years.â
âWhere you've been hiding,â he corrected. She looked at him, slowly nodding her head.
âI try not to go out often, but I do when itâs necessary or when I need a little bit of normalcy. But when I do, I go disguised as Desirae and not Amora. Itâs a small town, so I take extra measures, especially when it's for my fighting classes that I take every three months.â
He looked at her deeply, going over the events he had with her. Connecting dots in his head It explains a lot about her paranoia, especially when they first met, all the concealed weapons she had around, the fighting skills she practices, her alarm system, even her dog. She's just surviving, waiting for something to happen to her. That's the saddest thing he could thinkâsuch a waste for a woman like her to be hiding away from the world. Letting her become a shell, not fighting back, only letting fear whisk her away in lifeÂ
"Yep, so that's the story of Amora Johnson,â she muttered sarcastically. She knew it was very pathetic, seeing the look on the man's face. He was a man who was none of what she was.Â
On days they both had nothing to do, she listened to the stories he told her of his past; he was a brave man, relentless, and didn't let anything get in his way when he was doing something. She admired him; she thought it was attractive, but she envied him, wishing she could be like that.
âWhy didn't you do anything when you escaped, like go to the cops and report him?ââ he asked her, curious of why she didn't take more action, why she just chose... to run and not fight back?
âI did... I went to the police station and saw familiar faces that worked at the station that would also be at the cartel, so I left before anyone noticed me not wanting to get caught, and I told Jayâmy exâbut he lied obviously about helping me, so yeah. I didn't have friends either, one of the things that I allowed Jay to limit me from; he told me it wouldn't be safe that I couldn't trust anyone,â an empty, cold chuckle fell out of her lips.
âI was a damn fool,â she hissed, looking out eyes unfocused and glazed over.
It was silent between them again, Amora lost in her thoughts and Armando not having anything to say. For a bit, she sat in his lap with him still caressing her back until she snapped out of her daze and slowly got out of his lap.
Very quickly she missed the warmth and comfort of him, but knew she needed to head to her empty bed where nothing but nightmares waited for her, but she didnât want to be weak in front of him anymore.
âThank you... for consoling me,â she expressed weakly to him, head looking down, her hair covering her face.Â
âAmora...â he spoke, but his words got caught; he didn't know what he wanted to say or if he meant anything, but he did feel for her; he knew that.Â
âYes ?â She looked at him hopeful but scared of his reaction; it was the first time he called her by her real name, and she was fearful of whatever was going to come out of his mouth.Â
âThank you,â he spoke. A quizzical look crossed her face at the random gratitude. He gave a low chuckle at the adorable expression.
âThank you for allowing me into your space and for trusting me with your story. I know we started off on the wrong foot, but you still gave me a chance and have gone out of your way for me. I just wanted to make sure you knew I appreciated it." His smooth voice was flying to Amora's ears like music.Â
Amora's voice hitched at the appreciation. Emotions bursting inside of her but kept her self-calm.
âJust...don't make me regret it... or I'll have to kick your ass,â she tried joking with him, but she meant her word on not wanting to regret anything. She doesn't think she can handle another betrayal.Â
âYou won't,â came the serious answer. Their eyes were holding each other until Amora looked away, hiding the small smile on her face.Â
âGood night,â she whispered to him before slowly walking out the door, giving him one small glance over her shoulder and shooting him a smile before she softly closed the door.Â
His eyes followed every moment of her, until she was gone. He huffed out a deep breath, plopping back on the bed, reflecting back on the woman and all he learned tonight.Â
Authors note: Hey puddin! So this chapter went a bit darker, and it will probably be the last time that it does, so expect the next chapter to have fluff.
Also I see other people create links to their previous chapters to be easier to navigate, would you appreciate if I do the same, Iâm new ish to Tumblr but I can figure out if it helps.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed it! đđ
Hello there, my name Gigi, I'm a social studies nerd, a visual artist and some people call me a bruja, they're right but it's usually said with bad intentions. This is a blog where I mostly do whatever I find fun and helpful. I was raised around a great diversity of esoteric traditions but I'm also a nerd about it so of course I had to learn the old, the new, the conventional, the non conventional, the light, the dark, etc. I begin my training as a tarot reader and my esoteric journey at the age of 12, by 15 I was already allowed to share my practices with others (yes I'm kinda a burned out gifted kid tbh and it's not a flex), which is what I'm the most passionate about. I've been working on and off as a professional tarot reader, but mostly in spanish (I live in the countryside of a south american country). So I decided to try out doing it online as a side hustle, since to be honest, working as a tarot reader brings me a deep sense of joy and contempt. Personally I believe that the best part about reading cards for other's relies on the fact that it's a valuable learning experience for both parts, and it's beautiful to see someone grow and face any adversities they have in their way. At the moment, I'm working full time as a tarot reader/astrology reader on an app for esoteric practitioners, and also running this blog, hoping it becomes a nice space for anyone who is into approaching tarot by embracing all the possibilities it has to offer. My work on the app (I can't name it because of my contract) is mostly oriented to predictive and esoteric approaches, I also do a lot more astrology there nowadays, so this blog is less about predictions and spirituality and more about making mysticism, philosophy and esoteric traditions more practical to everyday life without taking away the depth or the power coming from this knowledge.
ËđđËâ *Ë about my work âș ⊠* .
Before you get to checking what's there to do, I'd like to say that I basically been reading tarot's for most of my conscious life, and I've seen and heard plenty of different perspectives, situations, and so on. Â After that I came to the conclusion that the most important thing for me whenever I'm offering my reading services, is that you and I can sort of work together on how the reading gets done.Â
My biggest concern when reading for others is that I can communicate the messages from the tarot in a way that's efficient for both of us. I'm always willing to learn and listen without judging, because that way both of us can find the most meaningful and valuable way to approach the reading.Â
That's the reason why I specify the length of the readings and the main idea behind them but I don't limit too much the possibilities of what can be asked specifically on that reading. When I read for others, I'm more concerned about respecting and embracing their experiences and thoughts when it comes to tarot, than to impose mine. Not everyone is down for a spiritual experience, not everyone needs the shadow work, or the practical jungian stuff, maybe you don't want to know about the future, or you do but only about the good, and so on. Â
To sum it up:
ê€Â I value individuality, empathy and mutual respect, therefore i will never judge, discriminate or belittle the thoughts and experiences of anyone.Â
ê€Â My focus here is to make sure everyone has the possibility to find knowledge in a way that's helpful and meaningful to their personal and spiritual development.Â
ê€Â It is important to find the best way in which tarot can bring something of value to our lives, and this is highly personal to anyone involved in the process of the reading.Â
Âż? how to book a reading Âż? & some useful info about my work <3
some disclaimers first:
no readings about serious health issues, no readings concerning financial advice or legal advice.
readings can be cancelled with a refund only before 2 days have passed.
you will get a total refund if i do not complete the reading before the delivery date agreed upon.Â
needed information
for me, it is necessary to know the following:Â
-your name, nickname, initials or how i should refer to you.Â
-your date of birth, bonus points if you also have your time of birth or a natal chart you are willing to share if interested in incorporating astrology into the reading <3Â
(if there's anyone else whose involvement is relevant to the reading, i'm okay with just their name, but knowing their date of birth is quite useful)
-your contact information or your preferred method of communication. (my options at the moment  tumblr dms, messages on this app, and e-mail. I am willing to consider other options too!)
-how would you like to receive your reading: there's the pdf option, you can ask for a link or the file itself and there's the option of me just sending you a DM or an e-mail.Â
some more disclaimers and useful info
âż Â feel free to pick a specific tarot deck for your reading :)Â
âż i will reach out to you whenever i start working on your reading, to agree on the time of delivery, check the information you provided, and ask you if there's anything you would like me to know before i get started. you can reach out to me anytime too.
âż Â i might write you during the process of doing the reading if anything major pops up and you can also feel free to hit up if something happens that you feel I should know of.
âż i'm bilingual, so if you're and spanish speaker, let me know if you want the reading to be done in spanish.Â
âż after sending you the reading, i'm available to discuss it further and clarify anything that wasn't clear about it.Â
Caught lying in the resume as Cabernet's staff...
Cabernet looked about just ready to EAT đŽ you... But HOLD UP đ€ We need to rewind how did you exactly get here.. đ€đ€đ€ So, flashback before babes decided that your life was basically forfeit...
Pooks decided to look for a helper to help an up and coming event where rich đłđłđł people will attend, so her employees posted an ad for applications... You, came across it and decided "Hey, why not apply to this side hustle? đ€Șđ€Șđ€Ș " Thinking you were slick about deciding to lie your way into getting the job but noooo đ
ââïžđ
ââïžđ
ââïž You weren't. đ She already knew what was up but, decided to hire you anyways because you were exactly what she was looking for. Young, naĂŻve, and stupid... Smh, you really thought... Gworl, she RICH RICH, why would you try this?
Anywayssss fast forward to the event, you were clueless roaming around the damn hall, overwhelmed by the flock of rich people crowding the place. Bestie you stuck out like a sore thumb đ the entire time... Trying to think of a way to help out since everyone knew what they were doing, except YOU đ© Unbeknownst to you, Cabernet was watching the interaction the whole time, you awkwardly nodding to a random old rich couple who demanded to see the chef, their anger rising as you scramble to get a chef or someone... đ Perfect... You were the perfect candidate for making this event a success...
Meanwhile, you standing like a fool đ§ââïž tryna find someone, the manager??? đ©âđŒ so ya'll can figure out how to y'know.. Deal with rich karens ig... Babes is already stalking her meal đ, while you're still busy with how tf are you gonna get out of here đââïž yes, you decided to spanish vanish like Duolingo held your marketable plushies as hostage đŠđą
Then, you just so happened to be at the crime scene because you were LOST đż in this huge ass place that the event was held in, making you open a random door, that you thought is the exit đȘ But nah, pookie witnessed a crime scene like a live horror move scene straight out of the screen, like??? Are you seeing this shit rn? đ€đ€đ€ Then, you ran away from the room and frantically LEAVE the place altogether. Too bad she was faster than you, with those louie gucci prada stilettos' my girl was SERVING đ©âđł while hunting you down... đ
đ
đ
When she finally caught up to you... She was ready to EAT you up... But you ATE when you recited the escuchađlasđȘpalabras đ§đ»ââïžde đĄlas đbrujas đlos đąsecretos đescondidos đ±en đla đŸnoche đčlos đantiguosđ dioses đ©invocamos đahora đșla đ
đœobra đdeđla đ€Łmagia âšoculta đ and cutely disappeared... Without a TRACE âââ Girlie was stunned, but decided to hire you again after her cravings was satisfied đ€ You got yourself another job to do, congrats!!! đđđ Sis gave you some MONEYYYY đ»đ»đ» that you decided to come back because you were PAID, unlike your previous boss Bai Yi who didn't pay you AT all... AN: If you haven't read the committing tax fraud with Bai Yi then... (Stink, this scenario can be alt route or the canon route depending on how you think of it as...) So, be posting some random ass fics while trying to come up with second parts of my previous workssss đ„°đ„°đ„° *Gets in the getaway car, as Che drives me back to sue the company for you getting underpaid for the SERVE! you did during your time in Bai Yi's company...* Possible hint for the next installment (?) /hj
When you go into the archives and find a list of cute Cangel moments in the Angel books. If you're not familiar, while the series was running, they would release books that were their own episodes.
(C/A Goodness from the Angel books:) Because if she died it would be the most bad he ever felt. (Redemption) Because "Angel thought she...seemed to grow into herself more, becoming more elegant and lovely with each passing week." (Close To The Ground) Because Cordy called him young and good-looking. (Shakedown) Because he's not all angst, Angel can make Cordy laugh too! (Shakedown) Because he literally dreams about her. (Shakedown) Because he said, "I won't let him hurt you, Cordelia." (Avatar) Because "while she couldn't be sure of much in her life, she knew that if push came to shove, Angel would be there to shove back, to risk his life for her. She could count on him." (Avatar) Because she gives him a pep talk when he starts doubting himself. (Soul Trade) Because everyone else can see that Angel's "her guy". (Hollywood Noir, Bruja) Because Cordy knows Angel's the only one whose been there for her since day one. (Bruja) Because he told everyone to be quiet when Cordy appeared on the television screen. (Haunted) Because "that was his Cordy on a national television show, the girl he'd known since she was a spoiled high school princess and had watched grow into a beautiful and confident woman." (Haunted) Because "her week's enforced absence just pointed out to Angel how much he'd missed her." (Haunted) Because "he missed the sound of her laughter, the arch of her voice when she was annoyed, the shriek when she was startled. Soon, he thought. The game can't last forever, and then she'll come back..."(Haunted) Because "his only thoughts were for Cordelia."(Vengeance) Because he "won't let anything happen to her." (Vengeance) Because she scowled when Elain flirted with Angel. (Vengeance) Because when she fell asleep Angel kissed her forehead. (Vengeance) Because it takes a while for comprehension to dawn on Angel when he's looking at her. (The Longest Night) Because Cordy sticks up for him and says he's "Not evil. Just not exactly Mr. Sociable." (TLN) Because Angel looks at her when she says this. Then she brushes his arm with her hand. (TLN) Because Angel likes it when she's happy and if it takes attending a party to do that, then he'd make sure he was there. (TLN) Because he got her Christmas present first before anyone else's. (TLN) Because he happily calls her "the Queen of Shopping and all other shoppers must bow down before her." (TLN) Because she winked at him and called him fine. (TLN) Because she undressed Angel with her eyes. (TLN) Because he likes the idea of Cordelia being intersted in him. (TLN) Because he likes the idea of Cordy hitting on him. (TLN) Because her hands dropped mischievously behind his back and made Angel go, "Ow!" (TLN) Because she cheers him up when he gets a mean Christmas gift from Wolfram & Hart that upsets him. (TLN) Because he tries to be Thoughtful Guy when it comes to Cordy. (TLN) Because he wants her to stay. (TLN) Because he doesn't want her to drive alone late at night. (TLN)
Hey Chronivac!
My 21st birthday is approaching and I was wondering if you could help me by giving me a birthday gift. I'm in college and I've been assigned to work with 2 other guys for a major project however, they have been nothing but a burden to me so I was wondering if you could turn them to absolute studs that loves me with all they're heart and make them incredibly horny too. I would also like if you could change them from white guys to a Hispanic and Arab guys.
Thank you for listening to my request!
"What if we did something cross-cultural? Something like that with the Hispanic influence on our storyâŠ" That either of those lads are even capable of having a thought like thatâŠ! Your pen almost falls out of your hand. Okay, the other of the two lets out a huge belch in confirmation. And then stands at the whiteboard and starts drawing a timeline. And then arrows are added. And pictures of shoe soles. He starts to dance. He sketches a choreography. And the second of the two begins to dance the sequence of steps. Damn, he's not doing a bad job. You look for a suitable salsa playlist. And you start to dance along. And the first lad corrects your steps.
Phew, the day was damn exhausting. The three of you are all sweaty. "Hermanos, Âżtomamos otra copa?" asks one of them. Of course, all three of you are thirsty. And you still have a bit of time before your performance at the end of the project.
The audience cheers. The three of you take off your sweaty tank tops in sync and throw them into the crowd. Whistles, calls for an encore. The principal comes on stage clapping distraughtly and says "Thank you Enrique, Juan and JosĂ© for your interesting show. It's hard for me to see the connection with the project task, but I have to admit that you moved quite nicely. The old bruja. You saw her watching the three of you lustfully. Too bad you three are celebrating your performance alone now. It's your birthday. And Enrique and Juan have a special birthday present plannedâŠ
Full Family AU Part 35
"Camila..." Manny's voice called out from the darkness in Camila's mind. She rose through it, blinking her eyes open and found herself on the couch of her living room. She turned her head and saw that Manny was kneeling next to her, Camila's hand in his as his face lit up with a smile. "How you feeling?" he asked.
"I...had the craziest dream," Camila told him. "Vee had left the house and we found her with that annoying woman who ran out at work--"
"Annoying?!" an aggravated voice shouted, making Camila's eyes widen. She then sat up and looked to the foot of the couch, where stood Marilyn, one hand on her hip, the other holding out the staff, and two bits of tissue stuffed into her bleeding nose. She was also glaring at Camila, but she could care less about that.
"How--HOW ARE YOU ALIVE?!" Camila screamed. "Your head just went...PEW! It flew off your body and into a tree!"
"Yeah, thanks for that by the way," Marilyn said, totally annoyed as she cricks her neck. "Not only did I think you loosened some bones a little but you also might have broken my nose! Do you know how long I'm going to a healer to use their magic on me now? For, like, thirty minutes!"
"...I repeat." Camila stood up from the couch, knees shaking a bit but Manny was there to get close and keep her steady. "How are you alive? How can anyone survive their head getting blown off?"
"Lady, I don't think you've noticed, but I'm not like anyone else." Marilyn then waved her staff and flicked her left ear as if that was supposed to mean anything. But the confused looks she got from both Nocedas proved that it didn't, earning an eye-roll from Marilyn. "I'm a witch," she said instead.
"A witch?!" Camila shrieked. She clutched onto Manny tightly, whereas he just stared blankly at Eda.
"That's...the least craziest thing to happen this week," Manny said, running a hand through his hair. "Man, Luz found a really bad time to fall asleep."
"Wait, where is Luz?!" Camila asked, adjusting her priorities to something more important. Manny answered by pointing a foot away from the couch to show Luz laying on the floor, King snuggled up in her arms as they snored softly. Normally, such a display would make Camila's heart melt, but the worry of what the hell that creature in Luz's arms could be made her heart quicken in pace a bit instead.
"Don't worry about King," Marilyn told her, catching onto Camila's worries. "He's just a little guy with big dreams of being the King of Demons. Mostly because I put that dream in his head."
Camila stared at Marilyn with wide eyes.
"Oh, I don't actually mean that he will," she added in quickly. "It's just a little lie to make him feel bigger than he is. Sort of like playing pretend. I'll make sure reality sinks it...eventually."
Camila narrowed her eyes at Marilyn now and turned her attention back to her daughter. She then noticed Vee sitting cross-legged next to Luz and King, wide awake and still staring at Eda.
"Has Vee been like that this whole time?" Camila asked.
"Yeah," Marilyn said with a shudder. "No offense, but you've got one creepy kid."
"No offense--And I'm genuinely not trying to be offensive here," Manny spoke up. "But I'm starting to think it might be because of you."
"Me?!"
"She's acting like this because she smells magic," Manny explained. "She told us she sort of...feeds off of it. Maybe she's smelling the magic coming off of you and it's making her...like that."
"What the heck kind of thing eats magic?" Marilyn couldn't help but asked, more concerned of her safety than ever. She then glanced at King, wondering if he'll be safe being that close to a magic eater.
"That," Camila said, "is a need to know basis. And some crazy bruja with a detachable head and inability to pay for her dog's check ups does not need to know anything yet."
"...Seriously?"
"Seriously."
Marilyn groaned and, for some reason, started digging into her hair. Eventually, she pulled out a deck of cards and waved them at Vee.
"Hey, kiddo," Marilyn said. "You want a snack? Here ya go."
She tosses the cards over, and they just smacked Vee right in the face. She blinked, sniffed, and then looked down at the pack. Then, like a beast finding a meal, she pounced onto them and started eating each card at a time.
"What...are those?" Manny was the first to ask.
"My Hex 'em, Hold 'em cards," Marilyn said as if it made sense. "They cost a dollar a deck, but have some good magic stored in them. Should be enough for the little monster."
"Don't call my daughter a--" But Camila's outburst was cut short by the sound of a little THUMP. She looked back to Vee and saw she had now passed out on the floor with Luz, cards still in her hand as she snored gently.
"Well, looks like that tuckered her out," Marilyn stated, a proud smile. Yet Camila couldn't help but stare at her with an astonished expression. With a bit of annoyance still there.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"Well, I suppose a better introduction is necessary." Marilyn twirled her staff and hit the butt of it on the floor, causing a yellow aura to glow around her. "I...am Eda the Owl Lady!"
"Eda? I thought your name was Marilyn."
"What? Oh! That?" Eda laughed with a wave of her hand. "That's just a name I tell people when I visit. The truth is I'm the greatest witch in the Boiling Isles!"
"The Boiling Isles?" Manny asked now.
"A land from a realm that's just outside your own, with bits of our world leaking into yours and creating most things that you humans would call a myth. Consider us your next door neighbors who often dump our trash into yours when our garbage bin's gotten a little full. As for how that happens, well, I can answer that another time. But for now, I have but one question for the two of you."
Camila and Manny just gaped at her, neither knowing what to say or what to think. For the third time this week, all that they thought was normal got shattered into oblivion, and there's no way of going back.
At this point, all one can do is go forward.
"Wh-What's your question?" Camila asked.
"Simple...Can me and my boy crash on your couch for a bit?"
Welcome to Fort Incest Is Bad(TM)!
Come in! Grab a blanket and some pillows and cuddle up with a snack!
This was made to be a DRAMA-FREE safe space for the victims of the big blogs, the gore anons, the people on the âexposure documentâ list, and those who have made their main blogs a safe space for these victims! The friends of these people are welcome, too :)
Of course, since this is a safe space, there needs to be some rules:
No bad-mouthing each other. Weâve all been through shit here and no one deserves more stress.
I would prefer to keep drama away from this blog, as itâs not healthy to be drowned in the situation everywhere.
the only exception to the rule above is if you need to vent and have nowhere else to go. Otherwise @sams-venting is available :)
any type of content other than incest, pedophilia, or anything NSFW is welcome! It does not have to be exclusively tsams related.
This blog is supposed to be a safe space without drama, but if you feel uncomfortable here, feel free to block this blog. No one will blame you.
Unless you need to vent here specifically, the names Alex, Dana, Twin/Ceph, Bruja/Witchy, Z, E.C./Reed, Davis, and Kat are not allowed to be mentioned here.
Support of the big blogs, the âexposure documentâ, or the idea that the gore anons are fake will end in blocking. On both here and my main.
After recent events, the names Choco/Garbagechocolate and Meg/Ayyy-Imma-Ninja are banned from this blog. Again, venting to this blog when necessary is an exception.
Just chill and have fun! There will be no judgement here :)
As of 10/17/24, mentions of the blog @/a-voice-for-the-victims is PROHIBITED. The exception is when you need to vent, as the mod of the venting blog is only comfortable talking about it through DMs
If anyone wants to add something else, feel free to reblog! Have fun in the IKEA fort!
Ghost Selkie AU Tidbit: Abuela Soliña
Iâm still playing with my Ghost Selkie Au, tossing it around like a cat toy trying to decide if and how to write it and one figure that Iâve kinda developed a backstory for is Abuela Soliña. Now said backstory may never see the light of day in the the main story so I thought thisâd be a fun tidbit to throw out while Iâm still considering the main story overall.
Okay so my inspo for Abuela Soliña, or Señora Mariana Soliña, actually came from a couple of different sources. I took some of the general headcanon from the DCU; Crime Alley has a large population of people of color, specifically Hispanic in the area Jason lived; that Jason has Hispanic heritage; that some of the older women in the alley occasionally feed street kids; and took them to create a person that would be a maternal figure for Jason bc Iâm all for giving him Good Adult Influences.
She functions a bit as a plot device taking up the role of Jasonâs magical mentor and helps move the story along. However, I wanted to give her more depth so I based her off an actual figure in Spanish history. Once I had decided a witch was the best magical figure to live in Gotham and guide Jason I actually did a bit of research on famous Brujas in folklore and came across MarĂa Soliña/Soliño a famous witch from Galicia who inspired the women of her village to fend off Ottoman raiders and survived the Spanish Inquisition without being burned at the stake. She was the main inspiration and namesake of Abuela Mariana Soliña. She did have children, though not much is known about them, so I wanted it to be implied that Mariana was a descendant of MarĂa. I wanna say Iâm placing her around age 50 when she first met Jason and 65-ish(?) when he returned to Gotham.
Anyways, like I said I didnât want her to remain a plot device and actually have depth so I kinda started building a backstory for her. Her grandparents or parents were likely immigrants who moved to Gotham from Galicia, Spain back when the city was younger. Back then the different magical communities were a bit more segregated. Vampires stayed clans with vamp doctors and leaders, gargoyles in their own community, fae in their courts, etc., but she did let that stop her. She was always deeply involved in the inter-magical community and was a central figure due to her interest in learning other supernatural cultures of the city.
She eventually grew up to be a full-fledged bruja who sold her magical remedies, charms, potions, etc to any supernatural being willing to pay her. This actually helped her amass a large amount of wealth quickly, especially when her charms, totems, and remedies caught the eyes of superstitious crime bosses across the city. She always insisted to cover her face with a shawl to protect her anonymity and had several mob bosses sign magical contracts agreeing to protect her and her rights to do business thus making her virtually untouchable in the Alley.
I wanted her to be a very strong influence on Jason. She is very strong, sassy, confident, clever, and street smart and taught Jason some of those traits. She actually meets Jason through Catherine. Mariana had many close friends with children though she herself never married. Catherine was actually the daughter of one of her close friends and Mariana was like an aunt to her. When her friend died and Catherine was left on the streets Mariana did what she could but her fear and unreadiness for motherhood held her back.
Catherine was taken in by her uncleâs family and the two were estranged for a time. In that time she falls into addiction due to her uncles on involvement in drug running as well as bad peer influences. She reunites with her TĂa Mariana when she marries Willis and reaches out to invite her to the wedding. Even though they are no longer very close, after Catherine becomes pregnant Mariana offers to help out when she can. She lives in a different (read: magical) part of the Alley so she only sees Jason occasionally but makes a point to feed him, and when he discovers her secret, to teach him some basics of the supernatural world to help him get by.
After Catherineâs death Abuela Soliña is distraught. She offers Jason a hot meal and some money she had set aside (Catherineâs old college fund she never got a chance to use) but hesitated to offer a place in her home so soon after the loss. Jason sees her grief and hesitation, mistakenly assuming itâs unwillingness to deal with him full time and runs off. She tries to invite him back a couple of times but he mistakes it as one off events and remains a street kid until Bruce adopts him.
He still occasionally goes back to the Alley to visit her after that, usually as Robin. The first time he went to let her know he was okay she immediately clocked him as Jason but wished him well with Bruce. When he visits she still feeds him and gives him luck and protection charms to help with crime fighting. (Side Note: on one of his visits Jason finds out the Alfred and Mariana know each other and Have Met Beforeâąïž. Neither explains how or why)
When Jason dies Mariana grieves him deeply. When he comes back as a revenant she is both relieved and guilty. Sheâs happy to have the boy back but a revenantâs existence is not a peaceful one. When he searches her up and comes to see her he looks like heâs survived hell and back and he probably has. He seek out her guidance and help and this time Abuela Soliña is more than willing to pass on her vast wealth of knowledge of the supernatural community and its cultures to Jason.
One of the biggest two regrets Mariana holds with her is not adopting Catherine or Jason when they were at their lowest and she had the chance. Thatâs why as Jasonâs rage cools and he begins looking to return to a (semi-)normal life she offers to adopt him as her grandson for real this time. She has a friend who owes her a favor and can fabricate the paper work to turn Jason Peter Todd into Jason âPedroâ Solina (and his mother posthumously Catherine Soliña-Todd). She offers to officially make him her little witchling and he emotionally accepts.
Mariana is still an active and well-known figure in Gothamâs underworld and supernatural community so having her backing gives Red Hood a lot of pull and credibility. Plus his revenant titles increase his claim to fame in the magical community. Red Hood is well loved and âPedroâ is well accepted with in the community. Heâs kind of a public figure, bordering minor celebrity due to his connection to famous Bruja and witch doctor, Mariana Soliña. Not that he is aware of that fact.
Lastly Iâm gonna tack on some nicknames Jason receives pertaining to his connection with Señora Soliña:
Soliñaâs boy (el chico de Soliña)
Little witchling
Pequeño niño brujo or pequeño brujo (little witch boy)
Young brujo
El neito guapo (the handsome grandson)
Alborotador (troublemaker)
Heredero (heir/inheritor, referring to Marianaâs kowledge, wealth, and position in the community)
(P.S I tried my hand at drawing what I think Abuela Soliña would look like but Iâm not super confident in it. I think Iâm a better writer than drawer, but if you guys actually wanna see the drawing anyway let me know and Iâll make another post with it)
For as long as Breisa could remember.
She was in chaos.
She was never chaos herself.
Whenever Dad would walk her down the street to school, he was always looking over his shoulder. Like something was watching them.
He was more self aware of things. She felt his anxiety grow everyday. But she didnât know it at the time.
Now floating throughâŠwhat the astral realm? Weird death hallucinations? Enteral punishment? Whateverâ
Breisa could see herself and dad clearly. She was only six years old. Bawling her eyes out. God why this memory?
âMija you have to calm down.â He wiped her tears.
She sobbed, snuffling snot and blood all over his bandanna. âI canât! It hurts!â
âMi Alma,â He soothed. âItâs okay. Youâre okay.â He held her close, wiped her tears away with the pad of his thumb.
Later he picked up, and sat her gently on a dining room chair. Cleaning off her scrapes on her knees and elbows. Patching them up with butterfly pattern band aids.
She whimpered pathetically, âWhy donât they like me?â
Breisa remembered how his shoulders squared. Closed his eyes, trying not let his anger or fear over her show. Always trying to hold back. He rubbed sympathetic circles on her back .
âMi Vida.â Mateo kept his voice steady. He looked conflicted.
Breisa wouldnât have blamed him now. How could he explain to a little girlâ people would hate her no matter what.
Didnât matter how much she tried to fit in. Didnât matter that she had a heart. Didnât matter that she had more empathy than any normal kid had.
She was odd. She was poor. She was too smart for her own good.
âYou just donâtâŠthink about it.â Mateo stumbled. âThe more you think about bad stuff. The worse you feel out here.â He made arm movements around her. âThen it gets too heavy in here.â Tapped at her heart.
Then he kissed her forehead, âYou are more than their feelings. You shouldnât let their hate make your heart heavy.â
Breisa snuffled, and wiped her eyes. âOkay.â She was defeated. So donât think about it.
Donât think, canât feel.
Donât think
Canât feel
Donât think
Canât feel
That same night, there was a huge gash in the cheap popcorn wall of her bedroom.
It looked like it was cracked open by an earthquake.
Breisa couldnât explain it, but she remembered the look of horror on her dadâs face.
-.đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„-
At only about ten years old. Breisa was weary over her TĂas.
She shouldnât have been weary about them. They were family. Why where they always so picky. Chismosas.
âYou should smile more. Youâd look like such a nice girl.â
âYou need to know how to cook. Take care of Papi and yourself.â
âYa no mĂĄs pan dulces, eres tan gorditaâ.
âDoes your PapĂ take you to church? A good girl like you should always be in good graces with god.â
Breisa just had to ask the dreaded question, âWhoâs that?â
They gasped in betrayal.
âTodas vamos a la iglesia.â Her aunt with the chunky ears proclaimed. Grabbing her by the arm.
On the way to churchâ they gossiped in hush whispers, doing the cross, begging forgiveness for Breisa. Telling her things about the grace of god,
âHe always watches everything you do.â
âEverything you do bad, heâs there.â
âYou have to be careful and hope he forgives you.â
âYou are a good, smart, pure girl. Breisa, don't be a fallen angel.â
In church she couldnât help but feel the chills in her spine. That statue with blood running down its head, as he peered into her soul. Breisa didnât stop saying the âOur fatherâprayer for months after that. She had nightmares of being in Hell, over every little mistake she made.
The terrors seemed continue, even when she begged her dad join mass.
At least until TĂa Celia came around.
Now TĂa was different, she wasnât married. She didnât seem to have kids. She always smelled as rain, sometimes coconut, or even spring flowers. She believe in god, but didnât make you feel guilt if you didnât. She wanted to listen to what you thought. Not judge.
But Breisa didnât want to get too close. Good people like her, they leave. She had her heart broken before. Not having anyone that could remotely understand her. In that feminine sense.
PapĂ tried. There was effort
But how could she tell him that she started getting weird feelings?
That the ugly boys in school, some of them werenât that ugly. Kind of. Some of them made her laugh.
Or that she wanted to have friends. She wanted to feel she mattered. Wanting to be invited to sleepovers and play with dolls.
Not the weirdo she wasâ with her ugly messy hair that couldnât be flat, her hand-down clothes, and dirty sneakers.
She couldnât pay attention in class at all.
She was busy day-dreaming about all the friends she could have. She wanted it all: pretty jean skirts, flat hair for the pretty clips, the rubber band bracelets, and the twinkle toes boots.
School didnât make it easy either. Sometimes the words in the chapter books were hard to read. They didnât flow good in Spanish writing. Or it was mixed up in English.
History didnât really talk about anything else other than the boring old guys in wigs. Math was the worst. It should be illegal. Whoâs idea was to put letters in math?
She liked when they had arts and crafts though. Her favorite was to draw the stars and the moon. She had a dream about them, being able to float above and see it all. Plus this cool dog, that had three headsâ made out of stars.
The girls in class seemed to like her drawings. Until they saw the dog.
âWhatâs that ugly thing?â
âIs it a dog?â
âOh yeah, heâs a Doberman.â Breisa explained excitedly. âHeâs made out of stars. But he doesnât stay like that. Heâs big and cuddly. Plus he breathes fire, because stars are made out of fire.â
Then one of the girls, Angie, cackled âYouâre so weird! Dogs donât have three heads! Quit making things up?â
âBut the one in my dream had it! I saw it!â Breisa huffed.
âOnly crazy people see things.â Another commented.
âYeah crazy people that make deals with the devil.â
âYou mean a bruja?â
Like wildfire that comment spread. It was catholic school after all.
Breisa the bruja? Yeah cause sheâs crazy. Sheâs so weird. No wonder she doesnât have a mom. She probably cursed her. Made her disappear.
She was hurt of course. Then the anger came. Before she was seething and her teeth grinding together. It didnât help Isabel, the girl who started it had been laughing in her face.
Next thing she knew, Isabel was bleeding from her nose and Breisa was getting her curls yanked from her scalp.
Then she got sent home. Again.
TĂa was there when Dad picked her up. She was standing in the kitchen, drinking coffee. Looking a bit surprised to see her. Then her face shift to some sort of understanding.
Breisa hid behind her Dadâs leg. Until Tia kneeled down to her eye level, and said âHey Bonita, you okay?â
The re were no more nightmares, nor cracks from the random earthquakes. It was like TĂa Celia and Dad were her good luck charms.
-.đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę .đ„ Ę ËâŸđ€.đ„ Ę Ë .đ„ Ę-
âWhy do you do this?â TĂa Celia scolded. âYour Papi works very hard for you, and you get into fights. Again?â
Breisa, barely 12 by now, absentmindedly looked out the window; imagining there was a little guy bobbing and weaving through the neighborhood.
âAy ya!â TĂa snapped to get her attention. â¿¥Niña, quĂ© vas a hater? How are you going to survive without us? What are you going to do with school?â
âFlunk out.â She shrugged.
TĂa pursed her lips in thought. There were things sheâd noticed about Breisa. Her attitude was a big one. But that was just an aggressive way to mask everything underneath.
Take how she looked- wearing week old jeans, her hair was half updo and frizzy, sweatshirt and eye bags. She was stressed again.
TĂa breathed and tried a different approach, âWhat is going on with you?â
Breisa sighed quietly underneath her breath. âDad. Heâs having money problems. And he doesnât want to admit it. I donât want to be in school. If I canât afford the uniforms, or the lunch, or whatever.â
She didnât have to turn to see that Celica was frowning, she has always stressing over them. Dad was her older brother. âIf you say anything, heâll be mad and heâll be stubborn. âCause he wants to prove something, working from sunup to sun down. Why does it matter?â
âYour father is taking after our mom,â TĂa explained. âIt was her job to protect and provide, so we can have a better life. Thatâs what we do for our own.â
Breisa grumbled, hearing this lecture over and over again. "ÂżY si no quiero eso?"
Tia screeched to a stop in the middle of the highway. Then when other cars blared their horn at her, she jerked the car to the side. She faced her niece, âÂżQue dice?â
Shifting uncomfortably, Breisa repeated herself. âI donât want that. Not if it means dad has to sacrifice himself, for my own comfort . It doesnât feel right.â
âBreisas Paulina Alessandro,â She winced at her full name. Waiting for the lecture that would ensue. But it never came. âWhat makes you think that your father is forced to do that?â
âI donât know!â She remembered the frustration, guilt, and overwhelming anxiety. âMaybe because he didnât want me! Maybe I am too much of a burden! No matter how much effort he puts into me, Iâm a huge screw up! No matter how hard I try I cause all the problems! Maybe mom wouldnât have left if she knew I wasnât such a curse! And then dad wouldnât have to be stuck with me!â
From her outburst the ground began to rumble, Breisa closed her eyes and prayed it wasnât an earthquake. She hated them. They always seemed to follow. Maybe god was just laughing at her. Or she needed to suffer to make up for how awful she was.
Thatâs why dad took her place in a prison cell. Thatâs why the fights got worse, the outbursts were frequent, thatâs why TĂa sent her a way. And any little moment of happiness was gone.
All those memories came rushing at once.
Fuck, if this Breisa is her suffering. Who's to say sheâs changed at all?
Sheâs always suffering or maybe other people suffer. This is her purgatory, even if itâs not the one she expected. She deserves this.
âWhy the hell did you make me?!â Breisa present her screamed into void. âDo you just enjoy this?! Watching me live this over and over again?! Seeing how much of a screw up I am?! Is that all Iâm good for?!â
Only silence in this emptiness.
âSome fuckin mom you are! Leaving me and dad to fend for ourselves! While you get to live a life being an all powerful drama queen!â
Breisa didnât realize the tears, until they trailed angrily down her face.
âWhy canât I stop fuckin up? Was I just made to be a puppet? Was I never meant to be happy?â
She hyperventilated.
âAm I a mistake?â
No answer, just as she suspected. Why would she have her hopes up for some Vieja, probably worse than she was.
âYou think way too little of yourself.â An old voice croaked. âAnd you think too little of me.â
Breisa felt the void shrink as she met eyes with an elderly lady.
She mustâve been in her late sixties. Her hair was long with gray waves. Her dress was stitched and hand embroidered. She wore a small bandana with moon crescent pattern; it was tied by the back of hair. There were braids on each side of her cheeks decorated with either yarn, beads, and feathers.
âTo be young, is to be small and foolish.â She hummed. âYou represent that.â
Breisa looked surprised and annoyed, âAre you here to lead me to purgatory? Or you're just giving me a bunch of bull about my youth.â
She felt a swat at her head. Ouch! She winced and rubbed her forehead.
âI figured this form you would be at ease.â The woman huffed. âMaybe, Iâd suit you better like this.â
She changed, her grays turning dark and healthy. Her wrinkles seeped into smooth skin. Her posture straightened.
Breisa was met with a doppelgĂ€nger-adjacentâŠshe had olive skin, thick waves of black hair. She had a slight smile, twinkled with mischief. But a glow in her eyesâ she was more than she seemed. She had the same mole on her lip, nose shape, and everything else Breisa. A hollow shell of her.
âÂĄAy ya!â Breisa exclaimed. Touching her own face, making sure hers was still there.
âWeâre going to be the best of companions!â She grabbed her hands. âBe free, away from pesky menâ let our hair grow wild, thrive in nature, learn the dark magic grimoire, hex those elitists, steal from the rich, and curse their bloodlines.â Her eyes went wild with hazy green. âOf course we might let the good looking men live.â
Breisa, horrified, threw her hands back and pushed her away defensively. âÂĄÂżQuĂ© eres?!â
âNot this form either, huh.â The creature huffed. âOkay fine. Do not be frightened.â
âAny more than I am?â
There was a glow to her skin, Breisa closed her eyes. Knowing it might blind her. Behind her eyelids the light turned warm.
When it was safe, she peaked her eyes open. And was face to face with a woman. Not an elderly old lady like before. Not a teenager that looked eerily similar to Breisa.
Just a woman. Skin that shined like she spent a good day's work in the sun. A mass of black hair, with a little greys. Narrow nose that even out. Almond shaped eyes with slight crows feet. Sharply eyebrows, though they were thick instead of thin.
Her stare was stern, authoritative. But worried hidden behind her mask.
Recognition clicked in her brain. The statue back at Camp.
She realized she was holding her breath, âMom?â
Hecate seemed to smile. But it was quick. Gone before Breisa could catch it. âSo you arenât ignorant.â
She sputtered,âWhat the fuck?!â
Hecate raised an eyebrow, âYou speak to me this way.â
With what courage she had, Breisa raved, âYeah I speak to you this way. Sixteen years. All I get is an insult. Sixteen fuckin years later, oh hey the world might endâ Guess who has to save it? Some clueless kid, who doesnât know what the fuck she is.â
âBreisa.â Hecate tried to cut in.
âSixteen years, you couldnât tell me anything?â She huffed. âWhat about dad?! What about Lou?! And everyone else you left behind!â
âBreisa.â She said gently.
âDonât talk to me like that!â Breisa sneered at her. âYou donât deserve to scold me. Not after you abandon us. Not after you cursed me with these demons. Not after you left me to deal with all of this.â
Hecate inhaled deeply.âYou chose your own path.â
âThe fuck I did.â Breisa sneered. âYou brought me into this world. You decide to create life. Itâs your fault I am a fuck up! Great job! Mother of the year!â
Her mother clicked her tongue in distaste. âYou hate me I suppose.â
Breisa scoffed like it was obvious. âYou suppose? Should I repeat myself?â
She breathed deeply, âI donât blame you. Iâm not gonna sit here and make any excuses. As the others would try to lie to their children. I created you out of selfish desire. And gave you these burdens. Expected you to become someone. That was wrong of me.â
âYou thinkââ Breisa threw her hands up in the air.
Hecate exhaled. âBut I also created you, the way most of us create our children. For something greater than ourselves. Prosperity.â
Breisa looked at her like she was crazy. Crazier than she sounded.
Hecate opened her palms, beginning her explanation, âThere are gods that can see the future. There are titans who have lived in the past. And those who worry about our present.â Mist began to create a stream of illusions. âBut meâŠI see all.â
The mist became fog, then formed little galaxies with portals showing visions.
Breisa could see herself in all of them. All of herself.
One looked like she had been through hellâŠbloody and stitched up rags for clothes. Another looked like a superhero, wearing a purple cloak that draped over her body. The next one, she wore a wickered gown- embroidered with cool colors, a vail crowning her head as she prayed at an altar. There were so many different personas, different things happening, and she was in all of them.
Some she was happy, others looked scared, many she was fighting her way out.
âWhat is this?â Breisa couldnât
Hecate voice boomed, âThis is all time. Past, present, future. All of it. Every world, every decision you ever made.â
Breisa pointed at one portal, âI think Iâd remember if I join rebellion againstâŠis that the fuckin Spanish malita?!â
Hecate closed that portal. âItâs you in another timeline.â
âHow is that even possible-â
Continued over Breisa, âFrom the earliest times. The ancient ones have known that our world isnât the only one. Some were lucky to witness one timeline over the other. The gods have chosen a better fate for this world. Demigods have crossed from one world to another.â All the portals glimmered with her words, âThere are many cross roads we have to face. So many worlds like our own. Maybe we are the original. Maybe we are not. Maybe we succeeded, maybe we donât. But our paths always lead to our destiny. It has been set since our very first breath. For beings like us, we can choose so many waysâŠyet fate can only be fickle.â
Breisa couldnât wrap her head around it. It all seemed too much at once.
âChild, I can only tell you what I know.â Hecate waved her hands towards the portals. âYou believe it if you want.â Then she closed them shut. âBut you need to choose your path. How your fate will turn out. I canât make any changes for you. I canât give you the easy way out. Only you can control what path you may cross. How you become the heroine in your story.â
Breisa eyed all of the portals. âIâm not like themâŠam I?â
âPerhaps,â Hecate considered. âSome worlds, your circumstances were different. For better off or for worse.â She lifted a portal towards her, âBut this is your timeline. This is the stream youâve paved the way to. You have to follow it.â
In the open portal, her world, she could seeâŠ
Piper yelled at the boys below, trying to snap them out of the hex, as they charged towards each other. Standing protectively in front of Breisa, clay encased body.
In the next moment, Jason forced his eyes away from the dragon. Slashing blindly with his sword. Before getting knocked over.
And another flashâŠLeo holding his hammer up, so he wouldnât get mauled by a dragon. His eyes squeezed shut but he grit his teeth. Steam coming out of his breath. Dying would be an inconvenience, but it wouldnât stop his fury from burning.
Breisa swallowed, feeling her tears wet her cheek. Her friends. Embarrassed, she wiped them away furiously, âI canât even keep my emotions together. What makes you think I can make my own faith? Give prosperity? And on top of all that, save my world?â
Hecate closed her palms, the galaxies still shimmer with stars. She sighed, almost sympathetic, âI know the power my children carry with them. I know what it feels like to be pulled in different directions all at once.â As she reached her daughterâs shoulders, hovering, before resting gently on them. Testing the waters, making sure she was comfortable. âI learned you cannot force yourself to be together. Even the moon has her pieces in the dark. But She can always be in her full gloryâŠas long as her light is there.â
Hecate motioned her friends.
In the portal, Leo managed to jab the dragon across the face. Wacking the other like a baseball, helped Jason up. âWe have to get to Breisa and Piper!â
âThereâs too many!â Jason grabbed Leo, slashed one across the stomach.
Breisa watched as they dove behind the fountain, as another dragon-snake wip past them. Cracking the fountain in half.
âWatch it you imbeciles!â Meada cried out. âKill them!â
âDuck!â Leo pushed Jason out of the way as another pillar of stone came crashing down. âCome on, they need us!â
They dodge and duck their way from more dragon snakes, before they were cornered by three others. Their eyes glow yellow. Jason growled at them, shutting his eyes. Slapping a hand over Leoâs eyes.
Breisa teared her eyes away from the vision,âHow do I get out of here?! They need me!â She was nearly hyperventilating.
Hecate hummed, unbothered. âIt makes you scared doesnât it?â
âOf course those are my friends!â She tugged at her hair.
âSo how are you going to help them?â Hecate waved over each vision. âHow are you going to prove yourself worthy of these powers? Or this curse, demons, as you call it?â
âIââ Breisa froze. What could she do? She was stuck here for a reason. She wasnât as strong as Jason, quick witted as Piper, or can ignite life as Leo could. âI donât knowâŠâ
Hecate clicked her tongue. âAre my gifts useless to you? My ideas?â She waved illusions of the ring and spell book that Breisa had acquired.
âEvery time I use my powers, they suck!â Breisa protested. âI couldnât stop us from falling, I barely made it out of the gaintâs den, and I didnât even see that vieja coming!
âYet you survived,â Hecate conceded, âNot many versions of you had made it this far. In this world.â
Breisa wanted to ask what that meant. When she saw Piper being strangled by Madea âEnough with the mysterious brain teasers!â She snapped, âHow can I help?! How can I save them?! Donât give me no bullshit.â
Hecate stared her daughter down, the same scowling look. Maybe this was the end for this bruja, her mother would smite her. Maybe hex her, blast her into another world piece by piece, or hell leave her alone in this void of galaxies. And sheâll never get to save her friends. Never get to have a girl best friend like Piper. Never get to know who Jason really is. Or never get to see that stupid shining smile Leo wears, even the sun would be jealous.
Then this perra bruja laughed out a scoff, âNiña, you amuse me.â
âHuh?â Breisa was really getting tired of this crap.
âYou believe that keeping yourself in despair will help you?â Hecate tsked. âIf you let go of your anxiety, if you stop holding yourself back, and blaming everything on yourself. You will manage. Everything will come to you.â
That made barely any sense. But what could she expect from a cryptic ass goddess?
âI liked it better when you neglected me.â Breisa grumbled. She looked towards the portal. Glowing and thrumming with unworldly energy. âI have a really stupid idea. So thanks for mostly nothing, I guess.â
âTrust me, this wonât be the last you see of me. Or hear my wisdom.â Hecate promised. âOh one more thing,â Breisa hoped it was something more useful. Maybe even motherly. âTake advantage of Medas raw resourcesâ especially those potions, they take a lot of work. She wonât need them anytime soon.â
She deflated. What did she expect? So with a sigh, âThanksâŠumh Hecate.â Didnât really feel like calling her mom. Even if her aunts would be rolling in their graves for her disrespect.
Hecate shrugged, âYou will make me proud. EventuallyâŠRight now, prove to me you can handle these gifts. The moon can shine through a storm, you know?â
Breisa did a halfhearted wave Oh bye, hope I donât have to see you.
As the goddess faded away, Breisa turned to face the portal. She heard her voice echo, âBe well, Breisa. Everything will come in time. Iâll be here when you need me.â
She was sure she heard a whisper âTe quiero, Mi niñita.â
But shook it off. Even though part of her wonder, if this was what being loved by her felt. It didnât feel like it, but it lingered on her. Think about the mother issues later. Get out of here.
Breisa controlled her breath
Every time I look up something about El Cazador De La Bruja itâs always people complaint about how trash it is or something but like
Itâs a 2000s Yuri anime about two creepy men obsessed with a young, oblivious girl and the lesbian who has to protect her from not just those creepy men but several other creepy men. Like Ellis and Nadie are just looking at keychains together trying to chill and thereâs a creepy dude leering at her from the window. And the fact that Nadie also got taken advantage of by a man she liked and he stole her money and spent it on another girl.
Like I actually think the reason why so many people think itâs a bad anime is because it shows men in a bad light also because itâs a lesbian anime without any fan service and one of the said lesbians is a woman of color .
